first card for a while!

Thinking about it, it will probably soon be around a year since I last made a card! But since discovering scrapbooking, I am quite happy not to be doing cards any more. I do however, make a very few for close friends and family. especially if I have always made theirs. It seems almost lazy not to!
So here is card I just made for my cousin. I got inspiration for the style and layout from the Scrap, Paper, Scissors blog here

I scalloped the insert, and added a smaller version of the flower as a little extra detail. TFL X

opposites attract!

The last two pages I have done are certainly not similar in anyway. In fact I would say the styles are totally opposite!
I tend to try and do bold bright modern pages for my sons photos, whilst i am experimenting with shabby, vintage styles for mine and my daughters pics.
Here is the most recent i did of my son. The photos were actually taken in summer last year but they were snapped on my phone, and I have had a nightmare getting them onto the computer!

I have finally used this die cut sheet by Bo-Bunny, from the Flutter Butter range. I love it but have gotten it out many times but just couldn't find the right sketch, products or photos to go with it.
The title was made using Scenic Route chipboard letters, but I used the negative shapes as a stencil first to messily (is that a word?) paint the letters in brown paint, before gluing the chipboard letters on top, resulting in a sort of shadow effect.
And this page is my vintage style I am working on. I love the effect of having loads of flowers, vines, swirls and other embellishments all grouped together, but I do struggle with the placement of them all! Also, I don't actually have much of this sort of thing at the moment, but I am working on that!

This was one of many photos I took of myself recently, after changing my hair colour, again! I needed some up to date pics for blogs etc, so I thought i would have a quick photo session, as I am too photo shy to ask hubby to take the pics!

I found that this paper from Prima is already so detailed, it made the style look distressed and vintage before I had even added many embellies! Easy!

I am shortly going to be updating my blog, and promising myself (once again) that I will blog more regularly! So please do invite your friends to pop on over and take a look, I am really hoping to eventually find all of my 70 odd followers again that I had to my old blog! X

This weekend....

....has been such a busy one! On Friday I went a bit mad in the afternoon going above and beyond the call of housework duties by venturing into a mini winter/spring clean! I finally stopped well past dinnertime, and still ache!

On Saturday I dragged myself and my aching body out of bed to get the kids down the doctors for their Swine Flu jabs. Luckily my two were brilliant, and even smiled whilst they were being done, but there were many children screaming and crying, either through the anticipation, or the pain after!

After all the commotion down there, I dropped the kids, armed with 'well done' sweets, round their grandparents and I shot off to Otley for a day of scrapbooking at the Papermaze Crop. Everyone is so friendly there, and I had a lovely relaxing time again. Here is what I managed to complete....

...and this one I started, but finished when I got home (with a glass of wine or three!) I just adore this photo, and am determined to experiment with editing more of my existing photos to see if I can get some more results like this one.

At the crop there was also a draw which was from the xmas crop when very few people attended due to the weather! I was lucky enough to win an American Crafts Album which I am thrilled about! during my mad cleaning spree the day before I had sorted through all my LO's and found I simply did not have nearly as many albums as I needed so many pages were heading for the loft...not now!

Well Sunday was spent doing the usual, food shopping, visiting family and more housework, but by the evening Izabelle was off her food and VERY tired, to the point of wanting to go to bed at 6.30pm! I put it down to her jab plus a busy weekend and let her go off. Hopefully she will be ok when I pick her up this afternoon!

Also, I don't think i showed my family sledging pics from last weekend?! Here are a couple, but if you 'befriend' me on facebook (in the sidebar) you can view the whole album, plus there is also an album full of my scrapbook pages, old and new!

Did I mention???

That I came runner up in Scrapbook Magazines 'Scrapbooker Of The Year' Competition!!!
I found out about a month ago but hey, I am not so good at blogging very quickly!

The three LO's above are the ones I entered, and I should soon be recieving a lil box full of £180 worth of scrappy products! Whoppee!!! XX

Happy 2010!

I am just about 8 days too late but hey, Happy New Year Everyone!

Here are a few LO's I have done recently. I can't be writing too much as I may have had a few glasses of wine and the keyboard seems to be moving it's keys around!!!

Notice the hints of snow? Fingers crossed for some more over the weekend! XX
