Prima & Ingvild Bolme loveliness....

In at Papermaze are some gorgeous Prima Firefly papers which I just had to take some of home :-)
I also decided to take part in a Blog challenge with Ingvild Bolme, using lots of her gorgeous Junkyard Findings and Corine Flowers.

I wanted to document my love of Art, so I included a real paintbrush with lots paint splats and drips around the page.
To highlight the bulbs, I used yellow paint sponged under where they sit to make them look like they are turned on :-)

I added zipper trim to the edges of my page where my acetate corner is so I could tuck the ends into the Ingvild Bolme zipper piece. I wanted it to look as if the page had been partially unzipped to reveal an explosion of paint, ink and flowers underneath.
In parts I used corrugated card painted white to add texture and dimension to the background, along with some scattered canvas letters.

I detest having photos taken of myself, but I don't mind so much if the pics are kept small! I used a Prima frame stamp with white ink on acetate to frame just one photo.

...and finally, the title was stamped in black ink onto white cardstock and carefully trimmed out leaving a slight white border.

I'm a Fiskarette!

I remember, when I first started crafting, I bought papers, glues and glitters, but I saved for weeks to by my first punch. Because of my situation at the time, spending more than £10 on one thing for a hobby was a lot...but the one I'd seen I could imagine myself using on everything I created! This punch was a Fiskars Border punch and I still have it, and use it often today!
So this is why I was thrilled to be asked to be part of the Fiskars DT over December and January :-)
My work created will be posted on their inspiration blog 'Fiskarettes' and today my Introduction post has gone up.

My parcel arrived yesterday packed full of Fiskars products, including punches and their new Continuous Stamping wheel...pure genius!!

So here is a quick card I put together last night using no less than 8 Fiskars products!

I've also written a step by step on how I made the background paper from plain white cardstock, which will be up on the blog soon :-)

My Craft Space...

I have finally finished writing up a new page about my craft space. You will find the tab for this page at the top. I still have plenty I could add, but for now you can see where I do all my work...and Iwouldnt be without it!!

CSI #45 & 46

Another catch up post, here are my layouts for the past two Case Files over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.

Both Case Files are currently still open for entries, so pop on over and take a look...the DT provide so much awesome inspiration! ;-)

Magazine Catch Up...

As some of you know, I design for The Scrapbook Magazine, and Suimply Cards and Papercrafts. And you may also know that I am rubbish at updating my blog with work I have done! So here is a quick catchup of some pieces that have been published recently...

Simply Cards & Papercrafts:

These cards were created as part of my 'Design Theory' series in the Magazine. I had to show how to use the Tone-on-Tone effect, plus accent colours.

Below are the cards I made for an article in the previous edition, still working with Design Theories, but looking at the 'Rule of Thirds/Threes'

The Scrapbook Magazine:

I am thrilled to have been able to create the Front Cover layout for this magazine for the past 4 articles! They are made with papers and a photo of the editors choice, using the free paper pack that is included with the magazine. These are two of the layouts that have been printed on the covers recently.

Also for this magazine I have been writing up articles. Here are a few layouts from recent publications...

So i think thats about all I have to share from the magazines for now...now I have to write up a post withsome online work ive been doing!

Prima November BAP

Its not very often at all I get to play along with a challenge, but with so much DT work at the moment, I had to spend an hour or two doing something I wanted to. You know, so you don't get stuck in that creative rut by constantly working to briefs and deadlines, you need to have a bit of free creative fun.
So, as I have loads of prima products, and even some new bits that came through my door last week, I thought id pop on over to Primas Blog to see what I could do with them.
I chose to play along with their Build-a-Page for this month. Last time I played along I won, but that was so long ago, and I do love their sketches!

So here is my page. Really autumnal colours, and a favourite photo of my little man....

Thanks for stopping by :)

My Creative Scrapbook November Kit

This month I was lucky enough to have been playing with the Limited Edition Kit from My Creative Scrapbook. Here is what was included in this gorgeous kit...

If you know my scrapping style, you will know that this is rioght up my street! So here are my four layouts I created...

There are loads of different kits to choose from to suit your style, and tonnes of inspiration in the Galleries, so why not pop on over and take a look?

An Announcement & new Case File...

If you follow C.S.I. Color, Stories, Inspiration..then you will have already heard that I have just made it onto their fabulous DT!

My term started this week with this gorgeous case file, no.44...
So here is what I created. The journaling is all about my happy little man, which I have copied below.

Journaling: Every day, Oliver, you light up my world with four simple steps…

Firstly, your smile, or should I say your cheeky grin. No matter how long someone has known you, or how they may be feeling, your smile can not fail to cheer them up, and it has the same effect on me.

Secondly, your innocence. You are so sweet, and kind, not a single harsh thought, or cruel motive has ever crossed your mind. Cruelty and deliberate hurt are unknown to you, and this shines through in your personality.

Thirdly, How you love to be loved. You cuddle, and kiss, and say you love me, and the rest of our family daily. You give kisses to virtual strangers when we say goodbye to them, and need the tightest squeeze before you go to bed.

Lastly, your conversation. You love to talk, and be talked to. If there is any silence you will make up a story just to fill it. You are the funniest little person to listen to, with so much expression in your voice and so many questions to ask, I could chat to you forever.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog :)

Scrapology November Challenge...

Over at Scrapology this month, I was honoured to have my 'Play' page chosen to be used for the Scraplift Challenge.

This is the original page I created....

...and the sketch made from it. The theme is of course 'Chicken Wire' but this can be stamped, chipboard, masked...or real as I used!
...and finally my take on it (again!) I wanted to make it as different as possible so I used photos of the boys with Aquas and Yellows.
If you pop on over to the Scrapology Blog here you have the chance to win a gorgeous Wire Themed prize from Cardinal Colours including some stunning Prima Vines! Good Luck!
